Join us for Broadview’s National Online Reading Club tonight at 7 p.m. EDT via Zoom.* Digital Editor Emma Prestwich will speak with three contributors from our April/May issue:

Jonisha Lewinson was interviewed for a story in the United Church in Focus section about the Young Black Scholarship Program. Her research mainly focused on the mental health of Black people, including youth, in The United Church of Canada.

Luke Ottenhof is the author of Wetlands vs. Developers, which explores the battle in Kingston, Ont., over the site of a former tannery. The story looks at a developer’s proposed plans for the contaminated patch of land and the wide variety of advocates that have come out to oppose them.

Arun Srinivasan wrote The Good Fight about racism in Canadian hockey, a sport in which people of colour and Indigenous persons are solely under-represented. He chatted with the insiders who are working on solutions, including a former coach and players.

We ask as you read over these articles ahead of the event to please jot down any questions that come to mind. You’ll have the opportunity to ask the guests live! We encourage audience participation.
