 Zarqa Nawaz is a Canadian creator and producer for film and television, a published author, public speaker, journalist and former broadcaster. For our July/August issue, she spoke to Sheima Benembarek about doing stand-up comedy, the role of women in Islam and her efforts to portray Muslims as three-dimensional.

Omar Mouallem is a writer, filmmaker, commentator, educator and small business owner. In the story “America’s Moslems,” he writes about an obscure Islamic sect that is seeing a curious revival.

Anne Thériault wrote about her personal connection with St. Anne in her essay, “Aging Into Saint Anne.” Anne is a Toronto-based writer whose work has been published in a variety of magazines. She writes about feminism, mental health and parenting and has appeared on CTV, CBC and etalk as part of discussions surrounding women and media.
