BOOKS
Two Books That Challenge Everything You Thought You Knew About the BibleRev. Gert Janse van Rensburg pulls back the veil on long-held beliefs in two bold, eye-opening works: 📘God of the Old Testament Exposed: Why Yahweh cannot be the Father of Jesus; invites readers to confront the troubling image of God found in ancient texts. With compassion and clarity, Rev. Gert separates divine truth from human projection—revealing a God created by Middle Eastern history and fallible peoples.📗 Christianity: Gospel of Paul vs Gospel of Jesus dares to ask the question many avoid: Who’s gospel do we as Christians follow? Paul’s message is radically different from Jesus’ teachings and readers are called back to the simplicity of Jesus’ original way. If you’re ready to deconstruct, rethink, and rediscover—these books are for you.Available: Paperback and Kindle on Amazon.ca.

EMBRACED BY THE STORY OF JESUS!
Reciting the gospels from memory is an age-old practice that has been essentially lost in modern times. But not completely. Join Gospel Troubadour, the Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill, as he invokes the engaging and compelling storytelling tradition by reciting from memory the Gospel of Mark in its entirety. Be embraced like those first listeners by the Story of Jesus as told from beginning to end by the earliest of the four gospel writers. The event itself, including a brief introduction, a 20-minute intermission, and a concluding Q&A, will take less than 2.5 hours. Be there!
As a way of paying his many blessings forward, Gordon is offering “Embraced by the Story of Jesus!” either in-person (preferable) or as a virtual event at no cost to churches and seminaries throughout Canada and the United States. References from previous renditions in churches and at Emmanuel College, Toronto are available upon request. Gordon is also offering a 60-minute in-person or virtual workshop about the many benefits of reciting passages of scripture from memory. For further information about either event, please email Gordon at evansbeach2@verizon.net or call/text him at 438-453-8414.
Gordon is a retired United Church of Canada minister and lives in Toronto. Ordained in 1980, he served congregations in Nova Scotia and Ontario before providing spiritual care as a hospice chaplain to patients and families in Florida and Massachusetts during 35 years of ministry. His memoir “Called! A Longshot’s Story” was published in 2021. (www.gordonpostill.com).
