Broadview is an independent Canadian magazine focused on spirituality, social justice and ethical living. Through our award-winning stories and compelling images, Broadview challenges and inspires readers seeking to live a purpose-filled life.
We are currently inviting applications for the Muriel Duncan Broadview Internship, which offers the successful applicant $7,200 to work with the editorial team at Broadview for 12 weeks this summer. The intern will have the chance to pitch and write stories, participate in editorial meetings, copy edit articles, fact-check features, proofread layouts and create digital content.
Candidates must be under 30 and enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution. Broadview is based in Toronto, but we anticipate that the work would be performed remotely.
Please submit your resumé and cover letter, along with three writing samples and three story ideas that demonstrate your familiarity with the publication, to Jocelyn Bell, Editor/Publisher, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Application deadline: Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.
Broadview is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion as well as equity and diversity in its hiring practices. Broadview invites and strongly encourages applications from all qualified individuals and organizations, including from historically marginalized and/or underserved and underrepresented communities. This includes but is not limited to those who identify as LGBTQ2, Indigenous, people of colour and people living with a disability. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. While we sincerely thank all those who apply, only those considered for an interview will be contacted.
